Bluewater showcases plastic bottle beating public drinking water solution at world's first plastic free supermarket

Bluewater serves water free of micro plastics and other contaminants from unique water dispenser at opening of the world's first plastic-free metro supermarket

Micro-plastics are today found in over 80 percent of the world's tap water according to new research”

— AndersJacobson

AMSTERDAM, NETHERLANDS, February 28, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ — Dutch supermarket chain Ekoplaza today launched a pilot metro market in Amsterdam, the Dutch capital, stocked with over 700 plastic-free products ranging from meats to fresh fruit and vegetables.

Bluewater, a world leader in water purification technologies and solutions, contributed a unique public hydration station that delivers on-demand pure drinking water free of micro-plastics and other contaminants ranging from lead to pesticides and gender-bending hormones.

"Micro-plastics are today found in over 80 percent of the world's tap water according to new research, while other studies indicate pollution of drinking water by pervasive gender-bending chemicals and hormones is leading to lower fertility rates and hormone disruption in young women and men," said Anders Jacobson, President of Bluewater and co-founder and CEO of the company's holding company, Blue.

Jacobson said Bluewater's leading-edge, patented water purification technologies and delivery solutions effectively remove gender-bending chemicals found in cleaning agents, cosmetics and contraceptive pills as well as the micro-plastics now being found in tap water around the world.

Noting that the health impact of the plastics swamping the world's oceans are increasingly being documented by new studies, Jacobson described Ekoplaza's initiative to debut plastic free aisles as an 'innovative, exciting and necessary way to provide a solution to the catastrophic pollution of the planet by single use plastics'.

The plastic free aisle initiative was spurred by international environmental campaign group A Plastic Planet, a grassroots movement geared to turn off the plastic tap. A Plastic Planet co-founder Sian Sutherland said Ekoplaza's initiative 'represents a landmark moment for the global fight against plastic pollution and opening the door to a new future where the public are finally given a choice about whether to buy plastic or plastic free'.

Ekoplaza says it intends to rollout plastic free aisles across its 74 branches in the Netherlands over the coming 12 months. The next opening is scheduled for The Hague in June, and Bluewater plans to provide Ekoplaza customers in the Dutch port the opportunity to drink plastic free water as they shop shelves also devoid of polluting layers of plastic.

"We applaud both Ekoplaza and A Plastic Free Planet for creating a stunning stepping stone towards a better future where human ingenuity and solutions like those provided by Bluewater can help benefit planetary and human health," said Anders Jacobson.

Notes to Editors

" Launching in Amsterdam, the world's first Plastic Free Aisle is a joint initiative of environmental campaign group A Plastic Planet and Dutch supermarket Ekoplaza. The Aisle graphics were designed by London design studio Made Thought, and makes its debut alongside the brand new Plastic Free Trust Mark – a labelling system designed to help shoppers quickly identify products on the shelf that are free from plastic packaging.

" Founded last year by Sian Sutherland and Frederikke Magnussen, A Plastic Planet is a grassroots movement with a simple goal – to turn off the plastic tap. Over the past twelve months, A Plastic Planet has built a formidable coalition of supporters in favour of a Plastic Free Aisle in supermarkets.

" Ekoplaza is a Dutch supermarket chain with 74 stores across the Netherlands. The chain is one of Europe's leading organic grocers and is at the cutting edge of efforts to reduce the environmental impact of food and drink retail.

" Exclusive research by Orb Media, a top journalism site, and researchers at the University of Minnesota School of Public Health, indicated microscopic plastic fibers are flowing out of taps from New York to New Delhi with women, children, men, and babies consuming plastic in their water-based drinks. The study pointed to the U.S. having the highest level of contamination, with perhaps 94 percent of water contaminated with microscopic plastic fibers.

" In October, 2017, Bluewater launched a planet-wide movement geared to harness human ingenuity to help bring cleaner, healthier water to everyone and create oceans without plastic.

Hive Energy has secured landmark planning approval for the development of Andalucia’s first subsidy free 45.6MW solar park in Espejo, Cordoba region.

— Hive Energy’s Luis Martinez Hermida

BARCELONA, SPAIN, February 28, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ — Hive Energy Ignites Spain’s Subsidy-free Solar Market

Hive Energy has secured landmark planning approval for the development of Andalucia’s first subsidy free 45.6MW solar park in Espejo, Cordoba region. The El Salobrai project will provide renewable energy to 32,000 homes and will be connected to the national grid via a 132kV Endesa substation located 500 metres from the site.

The pioneering scheme is representative of the future generation of European unsubsidised solar parks.

With the highest irradiation in Europe at 2.150kWh/kWp (compared to UK with 950kWh/kWp or Germany with 1,070kWh/kWp) the potential of solar power in Spain could not be curtailed for long. El Salobrai, this first un-subsidised solar development is a shining example of solar’s indisputable place in Spain’s future renewable energy mix.

Hive Energy’s Luis Martinez Hermida has been working on the project over the last three years:
“Hive Energy’s advantageous position in the Spanish solar market results from the early opening of Spanish offices in 2015. Back in 2015 there were few developers developing solar in Spain and there was little interest from funds.Three years later the market is one of the most attractive solar markets in the world.

The success of the planning application results from lengthy and collaborative public consultations. Esperjo’s Mayor Forentino Santos has been pivotal in supporting Hive Energy to design a project that coexists with his community.

Construction on the project will begin in late Spring 2018.

Ends

Notes to editors:

Hive Energy currently owns 896MWs across 14 solar projects in Spain with Informe de Viabilidad de Acceso from National Grid (Red Eléctrica Española) and a solar pipeline of over 20 projects, with planning and construction anticipated to begin during the next two years.
Hive Energy is a member of Spain’s Union Espanola Fotovoltaica (UNEF); the independent association for Spain’s photovoltaic sector.

STEVENSVILLE, MI, UNITED STATES, February 27, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ — Stevensville, MI, February 27, 2018 – The human body can go up to 21 days without food. Water, though, is a different story. It’s estimated that under average temperature conditions, you could go without water for about 100 hours, but your body will begin to dehydrate quickly. Fortunately, during an emergency, if you are prepared with mesh tarps and drain diverter tarps, you can begin water harvesting to prevent dehydration. Using the heat of the sun, drainage tarps and a few other common objects, you can extract capture drinkable water from condensation, rainwater and the ground’s moisture, then begin the process of disaster recovery using Construction Tarps to protect critical infrastructure and buildings.

Products Needed:

<a href="https://www.tarpsnow.com/drain-tarps-leak-diverters.html">Drain Diverter Tarps</a><br>

<a href="https://www.tarpsnow.com/mesh-tarps.html">Mesh Tarps</a><br>

<a href="https://www.tarpsnow.com/construction-tarps.html/">Construction Tarps</a><br>

Recovery Process:

Dig a hole in the ground about two to four-feet deep. Choose a place that won’t be shaded, as you need the heat from the sun as part of the still to collect water. Put the water container in the center of the hole. If you have access to cut vegetation, place it around the container. Provided the ground is damp, you don’t need vegetation, but leaves and other foliage will have more moisture to collect. If you have a drinking tube, place it in the container to allow you to access the water without disrupting your solar still.

Cover the hole with the tarp. Weigh the edges down with rocks. Seal the edges with mud or stones. In the center of the tarp, place a small stone that will create a funnel-like shape. This allows the water to drain into the container. The sun heats the ground and foliage, which makes the water evaporate. It collects on the bottom of the tarp, then drains into the container. Wait a few hours. Collect the water. If a drinking tube was unavailable, lift the edge of the tarp to get the container. Place another container in the hole and collect more water.

Use the same technique with drain tarps to capture rainwater and purify it before drinking. Rainwater harvesting is a very useful method of water recovery. As an alternative to solar heat, you could use a heat source like a fire to heat the liquid. Collect the resulting evaporation on a tarp over a drinking container. In extreme cases, you can use that method to purify urine, sea water or even contaminated water.

Knowing how to extract moisture from the ground or from harvesting rainwater can be a game changer during an emergency situation whether you’re camping or during a natural disaster. The right drainage tarp provides shade and shelter, but it can also be used for water diversion to have drinking and washing water until help arrives.

….. is Under Investigation for Trade Secret Theft

Trademark & IP Attorneys

Intellectual Property Attorneys

Uber has been in the news lately as it was accused by Google’s autonomous vehicle subsidiary Waymo of trade secret theft.

Paul & Paul’s professional team of litigators and prosecutors represent both plaintiffs and defendants in all matters pertaining to patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets”

— Alex R. Sluzas, Esq.

PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, February 27, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ — +

Many well-known companies have been on the radar in recent times because of trade secret thefts. Large multinational companies can be razed to the ground with just one intellectual property theft case. Take for example Barnes and Noble who were sued by Amazon because it had infringed upon Amazon’s patented one-click purchase system. Amazon has eventually dominated the entire online book business system.

According to the EEA (Economic Espionage Act) of 1996 stealing of trade secrets is a violation of Federal Criminal Statutes. If found guilty under this act you could face 10 years in prison or more and a fine of up to $5,00,000 if you are a company and a fine of $2,50,000 if you are an individual. You are proven guilty if:

You stole, attempted to steal, or conspired to steal with someone else while being an employee of the company.

You stole a trade secret.

You stole anything related to a product that was produced for or placed in interstate or foreign commerce. This includes nearly everything.

You stole knowing that the object of crime was a trade secret.

You stole being fully aware that your offense could injure the owner of the trade secret.

You stole with the intent to reap economic benefits other than the owner.

Uber for example has been in the news lately as it was accused by Google’s autonomous vehicle subsidiary Waymo of trade secret theft. Anthony Levandowski a former employee of Waymo illegally downloaded 14,000 technical files before he left to start his own company Otto- which was later acquired by Uber. Levandowski was paid $700 million and was in charge of the autonomous vehicle program (a crucial program for Uber’s future)

The case has been referred to the U.S Attorney’s office by U.S District Judge William Alsup for possible criminal action. But as Judge Alsup noted to Waymo attorney’s when making the referral, “You have one of the strongest records I’ve seen for a long time of anybody doing something that bad.”

Uber was forced to fire Levandowski on May 30, who if convicted could face up to 15 years in jail time. The case is so bad that even as Uber is trying to distance itself from Levandowski by claiming that it did not have any knowledge of the engineer stealing the 14,000 files it could still be looking at a huge lawsuit. Levandowski could become a witness against Uber claiming it was very well aware of what was going on.
This is one more blow to Uber's long list of problems from sexual harassment, firing of employees and the internal turmoil that's been going on for a while now.

Though it's unclear if the U.S Attorney will take up the case or if Uber can be proven guilty of the accusations it's clearly bad publicity for Uber who is in the soup lately for not only trade secret theft but also of bad public opinion. To top that a number of its top executives have departed in 2017 alone.

But, Uber is not the only one suffering from an intellectual property dispute. About 80% of today’s companies (both national and international) are caught up in some sort of intellectual property dispute. Take the case of Chinese bike-sharing company YouOn. Days before it could start its public offering of shares in the Shanghai Stock Exchange it was forced to stop as an independent inventor had filed a patent infringement suit against it.

Whatever the case maybe it is important that a company protects its intellectual property. If you fire an employee make sure he loses all his rights to access company data immediately. This will prevent a bereft employee from stealing your IP.

A study conducted by the US Department of Justice in 2004, recorded over 8000 cases of various forms of infringement. And most cases perpetrators who have been found guilty have got some form of jail time. Hopefully, stringent policies and laws will deter this kind of cases in the future.

Procedures and policies which would prevent this from happening must be strictly enforced. If you or your company has been a victim of an intellectual property theft then you must contact an intellectual property attorney who could guide you through the various intellectual property laws. If you suspect IP theft give Paul & Paul a call at 866-975-7231 for a free consultation.
