What Is a Septic Tank

According to Analise Tenney, septic tanks are essential in many American households because not everybody is connected to municipal sewage systems. In certain states, such as Tennessee, almost everybody has a septic tank. This tank is placed underground and is used to collect sewage as well as other wastes that decompose.

After a while, the layers of sludge and scum start to separate from the remaining wastewater. This leaves "effluent" behind. This effluent discharges automatically from the tank and enters the drain field, where the unsaturated soil is found. This further filters all of this water. In so doing, dirty wastewater is disposed of in an effective and safe manner.

Analise Tenney wants to stress that anyone who has a septic tank has to make sure the system is fully functioning at all times. This means people should regularly have their tank pumped and cleaned, as the drain field will otherwise flood. If a septic tank starts to malfunction, wastewater can back up into the property, which poses a real danger. This is why Tenney points out that it is vital that people also understand how to properly maintain their tank.

Maintaining Septic Tanks

Regardless of whether people are looking for a new sewer line installation or they just need their sump pump replaced, it is important that they get a professional plumber in order to make sure that the system functions properly. Hence, plumbers should regularly check the system, clean the drains, re-pipe, and more. Long showers or running a dishwasher or washing machine that is only half full should be avoided. Additionally, he recommends that people consider installing low flow toilets and more efficient fixtures, such as faucets and showerheads. Most importantly, he explains that people should have the contact details of a good plumber in their address book as standard so that they can have any leaks or problems resolved as soon as these happen. On average, an American household wastes 10,000 gallons of water due to leaks every year.

Tenney says that it is understandable that because septic tanks are underground, they are often forgotten. However, these are important elements of the overall household and should be properly maintained. He also recommends that people use additives in their system, although they don't have to opt for expensive products such as Rid-x. Rather, flushing three packs of yeast down the drain is enough to ensure that bacteria continue to work and break down all the solids, thereby preventing them from getting into the drain field. Furthermore, he advises people to avoid bleach as this kills the important bacteria.

ATLANTA, GA, UNITED STATES, June 27, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ — Kyle Wingfield, president of the Georgia Public Policy Foundation, issued this statement in response to today's ruling by the U.S. Supreme Court in the water dispute between Florida and Georgia:

"The Georgia Public Policy Foundation is disappointed the Court today declined the opportunity to end this misguided legal assault on Georgia and remanded the case to the Special Master for further proceedings.

"We agree with Justice Clarence Thomas, in his dissent, that the Court already had all the facts it needed to make the central determination in the case: that the meager, speculative benefits Florida might gain in some instances from a decree altering water flow in the Apalachicola-Chattahoochee-Flint river basin would not come close to outweighing the great costs Georgia would suffer as a result.

"But then, this matter has always been primarily an effort by Georgia's neighbors to conjure unfounded doubt about metro Atlanta's future vitality, as a means of boosting their own economic competitiveness. That is a poor reason to have this fight, and we remain confident Georgia will eventually prevail.

"Unfortunately, along the way, taxpayers in both states will incur millions of dollars more in legal fees they would have avoided had the Court done the right thing."

KYIV, KYIV , UKRAINE, June 27, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ — Burisma Group started reactivating Soviet wells that have been sitting idle from the 60s.

Back then, it was believed that their watercut exceeded 85% making production unprofitable.

With technologies available at that time, obtaining resources was extremely difficult. Currently, the state is managing hundreds of such wells.

“We have rented 14 long-idle Soviet wells in the Poltava region. With latest equipment and innovative technologies, Burisma Group can work successfully on idle wells”, said Burisma Group CEO Taras Burdeinyi. – As a socially responsible company, we also see this challenge as a chance to help Ukraine reclaim energy independence".

"Eventually, we will be able to get a clear picture of what we need in terms of equipment and technology to revamp production from marginal or idle wells,” added Taras Burdeinyi.

According to him, so far this project has received funding in the amount of more than $50 million.

The first to make the list were the wells managed earlier by state-owned companies. These wells have been located and works have begun.

“We have rented these idle wells and started reactivating them. Three wells have already produced up to 3 cubic meters of oil and 5-6 thousand of gas. But it’s too early to talk about exact results, ” noted Taras Burdeinyi.
