MCR Health Receives Sisterhood For Good Grant to Expand Dental Care for Manatee County Students

$5,000 Grant Will Support Preventive Dental Services for Uninsured Students Across Manatee County

. "Every child deserves access to quality preventive healthcare, regardless of their circumstances."”
— Dr. Melvin B. Price, President and CEO
BRADENTON, FL, UNITED STATES, August 20, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- MCR Health is honored to announce it has been selected as a first-time recipient of a $5,000 community grant from Sisterhood For Good to expand access to preventive dental care for uninsured students in Manatee County.

Through this funding, MCR Health will provide 100 dental cleanings to uninsured children over the next six months, bringing preventive services directly to school campuses through its mobile dental unit and removing barriers such as transportation challenges and financial hardship.

Access to preventive dental care plays a critical role in a child's overall health, academic success and well-being. Untreated dental issues can lead to pain, missed school days, difficulty concentrating in the classroom and more serious health complications. By delivering care where students learn, this initiative will help reduce preventable dental problems while supporting healthier, more successful outcomes for local children.

"Being selected as a first-time recipient of a Sisterhood For Good grant is incredibly meaningful to our organization," said Dr. Melvin Price, President and CEO of MCR Health. "Every child deserves access to quality preventive healthcare, regardless of their circumstances. Thanks to the generosity of Sisterhood For Good and its members, 100 students will receive dental care that supports not only healthier smiles, but improved attendance, confidence and success in the classroom. We are truly grateful for this investment in our community."

MCR Health also appreciates the thoughtful and efficient grant application process, which reflects Sisterhood For Good's commitment to supporting local nonprofits and helping organizations focus on creating meaningful community impact.

The organization is honored to be one of 29 local nonprofits receiving funding this year and extends its sincere appreciation to the members of Sisterhood For Good, whose dedication to philanthropy and fundraising has resulted in more than $150,000 being invested in 2026 alone in organizations that are strengthening Manatee and Sarasota counties.
